Concerning Digital Citizenship, I feel it is of utmost imortance for us to mmodel for our four year olds appropriate computer care. This will be the first time many of them will have even touched a computer. I think we need to take this down to a very basic level for them. We should impress upon them...
1. The understanding that the computer is not a toy. Trucks in the block center can be used rough and tough but our computers are extra special, costing lots of money. We need to be extra gentle with our computer like we are gentle with our friends.
2. We need to encourage them to have mutual respect while visiting websites and using Skype (friendly faces etc.)
3. Encourage the importance of sharing our special computers and itouches. When the timer goes off invite your next friend for their turn.
